A Review To Balance Out The Negatives

I never write reviews on Amazon, well to be honest this if my first ever one. I wanted to write something that would shed light onto all of the negative reviews against this book.
Essentially, if you are a huge fan of Tamora Pierce, but never read comic books; don't pick this up! A lot of these reviews are from hardcore fans of the author, and have felt this book is muddled and all over the place. That's because it's a spin-off from another series: Daredevil.
White Tiger: A Hero's Compulsion is the fallout from the events that happen in the Daredevil series, it's referenced so much throughout the book that I can see why people are confused. It would be like watching a Breaking Bad spin-off, without ever watching Breaking Bad...
If you're a big Daredevil fan, then I recommend that you pick this up. It's a great little story that shows the life of New York while Matt is in jail.
If you're not a Daredevil fan, nor a Marvel fan. Leave this book as you're just going to walk away with a negative opinion.

It's not a Tamora Pierce novel. It's a comic book, albeit with Pierce's flair and humour. White Tiger is heavily drenched comic style, drawing in miscellaneous characters for entertainment and at times dependent on your knowledge of concurrent events in other comics- I think this is why other reviewers have found it didn't live up to their expectations. It isn't an amazing comic, but I enjoy seeing Pierce's take on the Marvel universe and as always, strong female characters are her forté.

Not for Tamora Pierce fans

I bought this comic thinking it would be an interesting story line with Tamora Pierce as the author, but am glad I didn't have high hopes. It is beautifully illustrated, but Ms. Pierce got off easy on the dialogue for this piece. It is no more than good-agent-misfit finds magic powers cliche. I'm not a Marvel Comics regular, so if you like comic superhero stuff, you can take your chances on this story, but if you are only thinking about buying it because it has Tamora Pierce's name on it, I'd advise you to reconsider.
