A Wonderful World of Historical Adventure and Romance.

Keith Starkey is a Scottish Knight who dragged himself from the battlefield of Towton Moor. The English King his clan supported running for his life. By the time he had regained his senses, no-one was around to help him. He must struggle through the cold, wet, snow to Alnwick Castle.
The Castle is like a scene from hell with wounded men everywhere.
Aurora de la Londe is the daughter of a traitor, left in the household of the man he murdered. She knew nothing of her father's plans, but not everybody is happy to accept her presence. Rather than deal with the angry castle folk, Aurora makes herself useful looking after the wounded.

This book is easily read as a stand alone, but as it's part of the "World of de Wolfe " I take that into account in this review.
Keith's story ties in beautifully with the "World" the known characters appearing but not stealing the show. Our hero in this book is torn between duty and desire. Our heroine is trying just to keep her head down in a time when women have no power. The emotion is strong ,the love scenes touching.

The detail our author brings to her books always make me "see" exactly how life was in that period . Once you start this you wont put it down until its finished. I loved it.

Wonderful novella!

I have not read much fan fiction and was delightfully surprised by this novella. There’s no need to read the original story first, though it certainly adds to the enjoyment of the novella. With well-developed characters, a clever twisting plot, a great sense of setting, and a romance that leaves you longing for more, I recommend this story and look forward to reading more of this author’s books!

and peanut butter! I have read every book by both authors and
to see them together in the Kindle World is total euphoria for those who love well researched and purely entertaining medieval story telling. Absolutely loved it!

Henry Ford's vision extends beyond manufacturing automobiles. He truly wanted to reduce waste to society. "Moving Forward" is Ford's third book discussion his philosophies on business, manufacturing, and society. Many of the current business buzzwords such as lean manufacturing and value stream mapping really stem from Ford's principles. "Moving Forward" discusses these subjects in the clear focused manner of someone who actually made improvements without the added jargon common to the books written by today's armchair consultants. This is a must read for someone looking to make actual improvements in their business. Ford's previous works are also recommended, specifically: "My Life and Work" and "Today and Tomorrow."

"Moving Forward [1930]" by Henry Ford completes his business philosophy trilogy, and in combination with "My Life and Work [1922]" and "Today and Tomorrow [1926]" (reprinted as "The Great To-Day and Greater Future" 2006) is a very powerful argument as to the expectations and responsibilities of business and government leaders in the elimination of poverty and want; in essence a "Capitalist Manifesto." Though at some points Ford's economic theory might seem to defy conventional wisdom (while elsewhere it seems as though Mr. Ford engaged the services of an economist to more fully explain his concepts), his ideas are nevertheless worth examining. Such concepts being all the more meaningful, considering that he put them into actual practice not only in the U.S. but in another dozen or so countries where he opened automobile plants in the 1920s. In today's economy where much acerbic debate is centered around the erosion of the middle-class and consumer buying power accentuated by sending jobs overseas, the reader is introduced to Ford's theory of high wages, high productivity, and sufficient leisure time as a means of generating greater prosperity, and for the most part his arguments are compelling (and basically what generated the great socioeconomic advances in the U.S. during the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s). Interspersed within this field of advanced leadership and business DNA are some rather agonizing pages on relocating automobile plants and manufacturing specifications which the reader will just have to slog through. Overall well worth the time to read it, and if nothing else a serious thought provoker.

Must read for hardcore Oasis fans

If you love Oasis you will love this read. Paolo Heweitt was there in the right place, at the top of Oasis' career. They were touring 'Be Here Now', the album that put them on the top of the world, in mainstream music terms. The hotel life, the buzz, the drugs, the battle of egos between Liam and Noel is all around the book, fuelled by the growing tension of being one of the most succesful acts but at the same time the press stalking them everywhere and the main critics turning down their new album. Record sales were high and tickets all sold out, but still the band struggled with the fact that they couldn't get any bigger and eventually they would have to face the comedown of such high. There are lots of talking about the future (with Noel even hinting a solo career). All in all, is a fun read with lots of anecdotes and great moments, as well as madness and bizarre from our heroes. The author (Paolo Hewitt) is not that much of a writer itself but he delivers well. If you grew up listening to Oasis or you're still a big fan of their music, you will dig this read.

Was a good book. You can put yourself on the edge of the band and hear what cause rock stars to fall. Felt like I was sitting at the end of the bar listening to fights and talks.

Badly written, short and dull

First of all I cannot comprehend that a man whose sole occupation as a writer can present such tedious language. The book is short, with lots of space on those few pages, left white. Even if the puspose of the book was to write about a year on the road with Oasis, and that everyday turns into routine over and over. It's simply here you separate the talented from the hustlers. "And then we went to the bar, went shopping, planes are like taxis for us, geezers, lightweights, coffee, hungover." Write something with a twist!

This is by far the most lazy work of journalism I've ever encountered. And I've read a ton biographies, and books on tours. Check out Stanley Booth's book on The Stones 1969 US tour or Greenfeild's document of the same band's 1972 American escapedes. They are great writer's, especially Booth, and even if the tour becomes a circle of routines, his language and style suck you into a style of prose that couldn't be more far apart from this circulated tripe. If you claim to be a writer, write well. I don't care how many friends you have in the music world. That is not a sole excuse to write for a living. I know the authour has had a long background the British music press, and have written a few other books. If they are as boring as this, then he should change his professional profile and thank his lucky stars that he's made a living out of it.

This was probably an attempt to cash in on the madness of Oasis' popularity, in England, at the the time and get to travel the world.

In short, don't buy this book. It's a dull cash in.

Exactly what you need to know

I've been following essaysnark's blog for a while, and when I got the interview invite, I knew I needed some extra information. They don't feed you any answers, but they give you the right information to get to those answers yourself. The interview question that I always struggle with-- "Do you have any questions for me?" They had a way for me to think about how to approach that, as well as questions and methods for preparation that I found wonderfully helpful. Now that I've got one admit under my belt, I am very happy to say thank you to essaysnark for all their help.

You may think you're golden once you get that b-school interview... but it's a lot more competitive than you think it is. Be prepared, save yourself from stupid mistakes, and show them why you should be getting an MBA from their school.

Nothing new. Same thing is being told all over again. Save money and browse the internet. you will get better strategies than this book. The price is a rip off as they have copied (not word to word but the crux of it) material availalbe elsewhere

In the period directly after WWII, the Army became interested in developing a light tank. Hunnicutt begins by detailing the program that eventually produced the M41 series of 76mm gun tanks that were designed to fulfill this interest. At 25 tons, the M4 was considered to be too heavy in spite of its popularity with the troops that operated it.

Programs developed in an effort to produce a lighter-weight tank resulted in the T71 and T92 tanks, both of which retained the 76mm gun and weighed in at about 17 tons. However, once it was discovered that Soviet tanks of the same caliber were amphibious, the T92 was scrapped to redirect design efforts to an amphibious light tank. This new program produced the XM551 Sheridan, no longer designated as a tank but rather as an "armored reconnaissance/airborne assault vehicle", or AR/AAV for short.

An extremely complex design, the M551 Sheridan AR/AAV was plagued by problems with its weapons system in its early stages. The vehicle required a great deal of frequent maintenance which made it unpopular with troops regardless of the fact that it provided a wide range of services. It was phased out of service in the late 1970s. Part III of this book covers the development of a future replacement for the Sheridan. Part IV covers several other light tracked combat vehicles.

A superb history of modern U.S. light tank development.

As a Vietnam-era US cavalry officer who commanded a Sheridan unit, I am all too familar with the operational problems during the M551's service life (ammunition, drive train, and missile system). It was a bear to keep the Sheridan going, but if we had gone to war, it was all we had in The Cav. I think Mr. Hunnicutt has done a very admirable job in detailing how this country went from an excellent recon tank (the M-41) to the miserable Sheridan. Let future generations of soldiers learn from the mistakes of my generation.P.S. This book is very heavy on detail - only those who love the smell of diesel and creaking tracks will totally comprehend the work that went into completing this research masterpiece.

M-551 Sheridan and more

Author R.P. Hunnicutt gives you more than just the M-551 Sheridan. In this book, he also traces the history of US Light Armor since WW2 to 1995. Included in the first 76 pages are complete studies of the M-41 Walker Bulldog, Light tank design concepts of the 1950's (very interesting to see all of the different ideas Detroit and the Army considered), engines, cannon, the T-95.

The next sections address the M-551 prototype, the testing, development and production of the Sheridan. This was a tank that tried to be everything for every one - light enough for airborne support, with a 152mm cannon/missile launcher for anti tank work, a scout vehicle. Regardless of your opinion of the tank itself, this is a fantastic collection of line drawings, cut aways; black and white photographs abound throughout the entire book. There are chapters covering the newer light tanks such as the Stingray, the M-8, the M-56, the M-50 Ontos and M-109 SPG. 8 pages of color photos and vehicle data/statistics finish up the book.

To get so much information into one book is exceptional. This is for serious armor fans and a real treat. A worthy collection to your library, it covers so much about so many different vehicles, all well done.

Another Masterpiece

What can anyone say? It is a Hunnicut book so it is the best. It has good coverage of the M41 and T92 predecessors which are of interest to me. It is sad that the book ends with the assumption that the M8 Armored Gun System will replace the M551. I don't think anyone anticipated that our 'leaders' would leave our Airborne Forces without a replacement AFV. There is some coverage of SP Artillery and some odds and ends that almost seem like a 'catch all' of things not included in other books of his work. This book is a must have for those that enjoy the "details".
