Still the best book on sexuality being interrelated with spirituality.

I reread parts of this book after first having read it nearly 30 years ago. I think it still sets the standard on the intimate relationship between sexuality and spirituality from Christian authors. Nelson rightly repudiates those in the Christian faith who want to claim spirit but not flesh, of which there are millions. His chapter on gayness and homosexuality remains the best in explaining the reasons the reasons for full acceptance in the Church. Though so-called conservatives will shout at the top of their lungs that there is liberal bias, it is clear to me that Nelson is simply trying to live out the Gospel as he sees it. In my view, nobody before or since has done it better in regards to the connection between sexuality and spirituality.

Challenging you to think clearly

I have read Embodiment and found it challenging. The author is well versed in the area of theology and Christian history. His purpose is to look honestly and clearly at the issue of human sexuality in the biblical context. What is refreshing, he takes psychology and sociology as tools to help him understand human sexuality. If we believe humans are the creation of the Creator, then we have to honestly look at them as they are in this creation. This book builds my faith, not tears it down; it also helps me think, not hide from things that might make me uncomfortable.

Life Changing

I first read this work in the late '90's, and it revolutionized my views of sexuality and Christianity. I would highly recommend it to anyone who seriously struggles as a person of faith with intimacy issues. Additionally, the author explores many aspects of sexuality as they relate to the Church, thus making it a worthwhile read for any thoughtful Christian. Although written in the late '70's, the themes of this book read as though written for today--a must for every library!

This is a good thing. I wish I had the opportunity to ...

If you're planning on taking the TERP10, read this book BEFORE you go. This is especially true if you do not have a lot of industry experience. One of my classmates was able to purchase a copy during the 10 day course. We were really all struggling, but he said this book really cleared things up for him. He thought he was one of the weakest in the class before the book. But, he made one of the highest scores after it. I had a chance to read the book after the course. It is a casual read. It eases you into thinking about business processes with a common sense approach. It is not a stressful read. It is not necessarily an "academic" text. I'm in academia. Trust me. This is a good thing. I wish I had the opportunity to read this book before I went to the 10 day course. I did pass the exam. I wish I had read this book first. Another good book is the Magal/Word text. It's a MUST read also. But, trust me...read this one first. You have to understand the business processes to pass the test. If you read this book BEFORE you go, you'll feel a lot more comfortable when they drown you in the material. Read and UNDERSTAND the content in those two books, go to the course, study, study, study in groups, pass the exam. Good Luck!

Must have book for terp10 exam

Its a great read and a must have for TERP 10 Exam. The authors have explained all the concepts in a very lucid manner and connected the difficult concepts with easy to understand real life examples. The end of chapter questions are a great help too as they help you to practice the concepts that you learn while reading the chapters. I highly recommend this book to be read before jumping into SAP material as it involves lots of terms which become difficult to understand if you do not understand the big picture, which this book helps in portraying perfectly.

SAP Materials have been simplified in a layman language. By far, it is the only logical SAP text book in the market. I definitely recommend this book without any reservation.

Dr. Alexandra Greene is a Senior Research Fellow in Medical Anthropology in the School of Medicine at the University of Aberdeen. Her research interests are in chronic illness, patient-centred care and concordance, with a particular focus on the experiences and perceptions of and interactions between young people, the family and health care professionals.

Alexandra Howson, M.A., Ph.D. has taught and researched sociology at several universities in Scotland, where her interests focused on overlapping fields of the body, gender and health. She has published widely in these areas and has also written two books – The Body in Society (Polity, 2003) and Embodying Gender (Sage, 2005). She is currently an independent Research Consultant in Northern California.

Not to bad

I picked this book up hoping it would be a good distraction, and it did a good job. The story line was good, and while predictable the story kept me reading on.

Some people have complained about the editing, but the latest version has fixed most of the issues.

Overall the book is good andan easy read. I enjoyed it. Do not let the bad reviews turn you off I enjoyed the books and I think you will too.

Riothamus - the high king

Whilst not perfect from a literary point of view, the author tells a tale that holds your attention from beginning to end. Not quite swords and sorcerers but fine fantasy. I would be keen to see another book in the series as the storyline could easily be extended. I would recommend this story by an emerging author to anyone wanting a good story to while away the hours that will keep you reading nearly compulsively.
